ABOUT EMMA
Emma at WIM HOF’S Official Summer Travel
Made in Brasil with UK Parts.
Emma Estrela’s life is a story of growth, resilience, and remembering what truly matters.
Born in Brasil and adopted into a British family, Emma’s journey has been shaped by questions of identity, belonging, and truth. Through both challenge and change, she has learned that transformation does not come from forcing answers, but from listening deeply to what life is asking in each moment. Her work today reflects this understanding grounded, embodied, and rooted in lived experience.
Emma offers an integrative approach to wellbeing that supports people in reconnecting with their innate resilience through breath, awareness, nature, and deep rest.
Emma teaching alongside JAMES NESTOR at BREATH RETREAT
My PathEmma’s early life experiences awakened a deep curiosity about what it means to feel whole. At times, this path unfolded through difficult circumstances, requiring patience, faith, courage, and the willingness to sit with uncertainty. Over time, she discovered that growth is not linear instead it moves in cycles, inviting release, integration and renewal.
Breathwork became the gateway that allowed Emma to come fully into the present moment. Once a paradoxical breather to learning healthy breathing mechanics, she found a way to regulate her nervous system, reconnect with her body, and access a quiet inner strength that had always been there. What began as a personal practice gradually became a calling to support others in doing the same.
Breath as the Foundation
Emma’s work is rooted in functional breathing and nervous system regulation. Since 2016 Emma has trained extensively in the Wim Hof Method, The Breathing Class® by Dr. Belisa Vranich, The Oxygen Advantage, and the Buteyko Method. She is widely known as a Breath Consultant within wellness centres, supporting individuals in restoring healthy breathing patterns, resilience, and self-trust.
Emma has completed both a Marathon and an Ultra Marathon without conventional training and only five weeks to prepare using breathwork as the foundation of her preparation. These experiences reinforced a core principle that guides her work; when the body is met with awareness rather than force, capacity often reveals itself naturally. She later studied with Patrick McKeown to deepen her understanding of the science underpinning breathwork and respiratory health.
Experience, Leadership & Global Work
Emma is an officially certified instructor of The Breathing Class® by Dr. Belisa Vranich and one of only three Advanced Lead Academy Wim Hof Method Instructors in the world. She is the longest-serving globally training instructors at all levels since 2019. She is also the first and only UK instructor selected for the Wim Hof Method Global Community Board, the highest level of contribution within the organisation.
An international speaker and ambassador for the Wim Hof Method, Emma has been teaching since 2017 and has led retreats, workshops, and trainings across the UK, Europe, and worldwide.
Emma has also joined forces with James Nestor, author of Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art, serving as Lead Instructor Coordinator for his official global retreats.
Her leadership style is quiet, grounded, and relational rooted in lived experience, integrity, and service rather than performance or hierarchy.
Beyond the Breath: Lucid Dreaming & Deep Rest
Emma’s work later expanded beyond waking practices. Following the death of her mother on 22 February 2022, she experienced a pivotal moment twenty-one days later during REM sleep when her mother appeared and spoke clearly. A spontaneous awareness arose
“Wait… you’re dead. Am I dreaming?”
and she became lucid. This experience opened a deeper inquiry into the continuity between waking life, dreaming, and deep rest.
To support this work, Emma graduated in 2025 as a Lucid Dream Facilitator with Charlie Morley, one of the world’s leading teachers in lucid dreaming, shadow integration, and sleep-based consciousness practices. Her facilitation is informed by mindfulness, Tibetan Dream Yoga principles, and contemporary neuroscience, with a strong emphasis on safety, ethics, and trauma-sensitive guidance.
In 2025, Emma assisted Charlie Morley on a Shadow Integration retreat, supporting participants through deep inner work within a held and ethical container. That same year, she delivered her first public lucid dreaming workshop at ADA Festival, marking the formal introduction of this work into her group offerings.
The Liminal Space of Deep Rest
To further explore the threshold between waking and sleeping, Emma attended Yoga Nidra teacher training network with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli in August 2025 drawing from her lineage-based and trauma-aware approach. Yoga Nidra offers a powerful space of rest and repair, a gentle returning to oneself, beyond effort or expectation.
This work naturally complements Emma’s breath-led facilitation, supporting regulation, insight, and integration across all states of awareness.
Giving Back
Alongside her professional work, Emma volunteers her time with local and global rehabilitation services, supporting recovery, reconnection, and long-term wellbeing. Service, for her, is a natural extension of understanding, meeting people where they are, without agenda.
In addition to her teaching and facilitation work, Emma runs a YouTube channel where she shares videos on life point of view and nature connection, and authentic lived experience - helping people around the world access practical tools for wellbeing and inner resilience. Her channel has attracted a growing community of subscribers who connect with her grounded, compassionate style.
